We love serving new students on their yoga path. Our studio atmosphere is warm, inviting and our instructors will help you feel comfortable no matter where you are on your yoga path.
Yoga means "union" or "yoke" and controlling the fluctuations of the mind ( Yogas Chitta Vritti Nirodha). Yoga helps connect the mind, body and spirit bringing these aspects of yourself into harmony and balance, creating a sense of well being and peace within the self.
We recommend all new students arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class to allow time to get grounded and become familiar with the space. If arriving late to class please wait outside the classroom until opening meditation is complete. Please arrive on time so you can recieve your full experience!
Bring your mat if you have one or you are more than welcome to borrow a mat at the studio. We provide additional props, including blankets, blocks and straps to create ease in your practice.
We suggest you wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to remove your socks. Yoga is best practiced with bare feet. Additionally, bare feet supports getting grounded, and being closer to the Earth!
In order to receive optimal experience we recommend practicing on a relatively empty stomach, therefore we suggest a nutritious snack 2 hours prior to class.
If this is your first yoga experience, THE ROOT offers a supported, cozy space helping you to gain ground in your practice.
Let go of your expectations and come with an open mind. Remember everything is perfect and you are exactly where you are meant to be!
"Always remember that nature refuses to be rushed. She can only be made to evolve and that takes time, so take heart" -Sri Dharma Mittra
