Anxiety and Depression:

Yoga supports emotional well-being and inner peace. The breath-centered exercises and meditation in this workshop have been carefully selected to meet the needs of the practitioner suffering from anxiety and depression. You will become empowered to support the treatment of anxiety or depression with yoga practices that meet the needs of your emotional state at any given moment or day. This practice is an empowering reminder that we have the ability to support the healing of ourselves within our own beings. 

- Address diagnoses such as dysthymia, anxiety-based depression, situational, & bi-polar disorder.
- Discuss the possibilities of combinations of anxiety and depression in the body and/or mind, and how yoga can help.
- Meditation practices to provide inner peace in body, mind, and spirit.
- Education on how specific breathing practices can help soothe anxiety and depression.
- Gentle yoga postures to address the physiology of emotional health and how it shows up in the body.
- Guided deep relaxation. When the body is in a relaxed state, healing can occur at many levels.

This workshop is for all levels: Some previous yoga experience is recommended but not necessary.


Amy Sellitti is an E-RYT500hr Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist. Amy grew up in Long Island, NY and currently lives in New Haven County, CT. She is pursuing her 1000hrs in Yoga Therapy. She has studied Functional Yoga Therapy and advanced Functional Assessment with Maria Mendola. Amy works with individuals recovering from surgery, injuries, & chronic pain in individual setting or small groups throughout New Haven County.
